Hello and Glad you came back for another visit. It HAS been TOO long ...
Since my last posting here, much has transpired in our world. The war in Iraq continues to shatter thousands of
lives each week - a chaotic political, cultural and religious quagmire that will continue to drain our world of precious
life, sanity and security. In Minneapolis we have witnessed an cataclysmic example of the cost of ignoring our
infrastructure, in favor of tax cuts for the wealthiest among us. The Democratic Congress has shockingly allowed
even more slippage down the slope towards a kind of government that the Founders would have never imagined.
Yet, despite this disappointment we continue to see various committee's continue to investigate the high crimes and
misdemeanors of this White House. Two of the most divisive members of this current administration have resigned -
Rove and Gonzales may very well have stepped down as a result of the investigations that are underway.
We have been witnessing what may be the beginning to an economic recession or even worse, as the mortgage
industry reels from the disaster of sub-prime lending (where people who have poor credit can still qualify for home
loans with little or nothing down). Another example of Externalizing Costs and Internalizing Profits. More later...
The need for radical change in how we govern ourselves has never been more clear cut. The Republican vision for
America has been thoroughly and completely discredited. They have certainly been there for the rich and powerful
at the expense of the working class, the middle class and the poor; Our Planet has suffered as they have stubbornly
ignored scientific evidence about global climate change. And they have deferred our tax burdens to future generations,
they have continued to wreck the middle class with policies that serve wall street but forget about main street. They
ave opened the door to the marriage of Church and State - inviting the "American Taliban" in to shred the Constitution.

As an avowed progressive with strong liberal leanings, I am passionate about the 2008 Presidential election (well
under way as you read this!). Earlier this year, I was honored to be a very small part of the machine that launched
the campaign of Senator Barack Obama on a bitterly cold sunny day in Springfield Illinois. As he reminded us that
"in the face of impossible odds, people who love their country can change it" the Democratic field of candidates
became truly a snap-shot of America. A few months earlier, in what might have been an echo from Bobby Kennedy's
campaigns in Appalachia, Senator John Edwards announced his campaign for the 2008 nomination from New Orleans,
Louisiana. Senator Edwards has been speaking about poverty in America for many years now; we can all remember
his frequent references in 2004 to the "Two Americas" and he continues to speak that truth today.
In my last posting here I essentially endorsed Senator Obama for the nomination. Perhaps too soon, I think now. Not
that I am critical of the Junior Senator from Illinois; I just realize (as many do) that we have a long time to go, and
that EACH of our candidates has something important to contribute to this race - literally the most important election
in generations, possibly in the history of the United States.I believe that Senator Obama will ultimately be the
democratic nominee in 2008. He will bring a unique vision to the White House that is sorely needed,
Senator Edwards often reminds us that it is time "for Americans to be patriotic about something other than war..."
- and his passion about the plight of those without is real and heartfelt. His outrage, expressed in a recent MSNBC
debate focused on labor issues, at the insanity of our failure to enact meaningful health care reform is shared by
millions and millions of Americans. He has a vision - and I believe the intelligence and wisdom to be a great president.
Senator Clinton, while I have many concerns about her record as a Senator (supporting the recent Bankruptcy "reforms"
- that largely benefited the banks and credit card companies) and I worry that she would be a lightning rod for the
conservatives, would certainly be capable and effective in the White House. That said, she is running a tremendous
campaign - and she is making serious headway in reducing the "negatives" that could be her undoing ultimately.
Of course Biden, Dodd and Richardson are all qualified for the job as well (especially Biden). Whether any of them can
run a credible effective campaign against the vicious and ruthless GOP in the general is a valid question.
There are 14 months to go before Americans cast votes in the 2008 general election, and just over four months until the
first Primaries (of course THAT has turned into a moving target!!). Across America there is a passion for change - it is
palpable. It is obvious in the polling. Americans have seen what ignoring politics can result in. Will EVERYONE come to that
conclusion? No. But perhaps enough Americans will tune in the to process and together we will effect the changes
that we all know we must see.
* Healthcare for every American.
* Energy policy reform - end our dependence on oil.
* Ending the war.
* Respecting the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
* Keeping organized religion out of our politics and politics our of religion.

THIS WAS AN OUTRAGE: ABC/Disney aired thier "mocu"-mentary movie called "The Path To 9/11" which
was supposedly based upon the Official 9/11 Report. This movie directly implied, contradicting the very
report it claims to be based on, that the Clinton Administration was largely responsible for the tragic
events of that fateful day. The screen play was written by a well established right-winger and advance
copies were supplied to a right wing bloggers and radio hosts. Even SCHOLASTIC was getting into the
game and was about to supply study guides to highschool teachers everywhere (they ultimately pulled
the .pdf formated guides, thanks to many who were outraged).
THIS WAS A BLATANT ATTEMPT TO RE-WRITE History. Call your ABC affiliate. If we do not call these
people on this nonsense, it will only get worse!

not have his way, he bullied us anyway) recently announced that even if the UN Security Council is
not in unanimity regarding the response to Iran, that the US can still take action.
Rumsfeld spoke to the American Legion the other day; the tone form this administration is becoming
even more stark and strident. Dissent is the same as wanting Al-Queda to win?! Keith Olbermann
spoke recently (8/30) to this rhetoric, and the danger it represents to our country. His remarks
were a breath of fresh air not often heard from the corporate media. Over six minutes; deep and
profound statement of what is at stake. Really worth a look at the video.
FOX News is pushing the "Attack Iran" rhetoric REALLY hard lately. Haven't we SEEN this movie
before? Even Sen. Chuck Hagel knows that attacking Iran would be a catastrophe even greater

Senator Ron Wyden of Oregon is our HERO !! He has placed a "HOLD" in the Senate on the "Net
Neutrality Act" - This law wouldl turn the "free internet" into a pay as you go, where large corporate

"Ihatecomcast.net" web site, imagine how much they would charge you to do so ... chilling.) Here

US Soldiers massacred Iraqi civilians - Pentagon covers up. A soldier raped an Iraqi woman, and
the Iraqi's took a couple of our guys and slaughtered them. Our Troops are over deployed and

solid record, considering the damage these Bushies have been doing to our economy. She just
pulled ahead of DeVoss. A race worth watching.
